With strong joints, good bone and mature physically for his age; a smart young man with lovely powerful movement but has ben seen to dish in front. Very sweet natured with an intelligent kind eye, loves nothing more than a good mutual grooming session. To mature approx 16hh, Maelstrom is a riding type with amateur potential with eventers, jumpers and dressage all in his pedigree. He could make a lovely pleasure or all round horse. Homebred and raised on good grass and haylage (not filled with hard feed), rugged if required, and stands for hoof trims with the farrier. He is well socialised with other horses and winters outside. Passported with the AES (Anglo European Studbook), microchipped and vaccinated. A lovely boy looking for an equally lovely home!
His sire JAGUAR is a young stallion who descends from some of the best Dutch bloodlines and comes from the KWPN Aafke damline which is world famous and produced the top stallion “Special D” (who was exported to America). His damsire is Jet-Set D, the famous KWPN Stallion (Zirkoon x Le Mexico x Amor), Champion KWPN performance test in Ermelo 1994, Approved by KWPN, Oldenburg, FWB and sBs, sire of several Grand Prix performing offspring in dressage and showjumping. His sire Amoureux (KWPN STER IBOP PROK, Licensed: Breeders Elite – SIES & AES Approved ) is very well known and popular in the UK (Saros Van Te Gestelhof x Krack C. Solaris Amoureux excelled in young horse classes with scores of 80% and competed with tremendous success up to Prix St Georges earning his wins, points and placings at the most prestigious high profile shows, premiere leagues, regional and national championships competing against the UK’s most experienced and successful riders. His offspring are now also competing with great results in dressage and eventing with numerous regional titles. In eventing Diablo Jo Bred by Geoffrey Burton qualified for both the KBIS British Eventing Young Horse Championships and the Burghley Young Eventer Championships aged four in 2017 and won the 5yo Championships in 2018
His dam Magnificent Gold is a 3 generation homebred and the only daughter of Millennium Gold so she in invaluable to us as a broodmare to carry on that line. A correct and beautifully moving hunter type mare, she has the most laid back, kind nature which makes her a great dam. Her dam Millennium Gold is unbeaten in the ring as show hunter (even at the grand age of 20) and competed successfully at local level dressage, showing, jumping and xc with numerous wins and always popular with the judges. She herself from a long line of showjumpers on sire and dam side; sire Invincible B was a Grade A showjumper and by Dutch royalty Wellington. Dam Macroom Gold from the best RID lines also showjumped, by Gold Mist (Gold Coin) out of Slyguff Girl (Slyguff Hero, by Errigal). Magnificent Gold’s sire is the event/dressage stallion Burnock’s Exclusively Done who is by Bazaars Exclusive (finished 5th at the BYEH Finals & has 12 British Eventing points.)
